Kalila came to the Egyptsies as another family member – she is the Mother of Mandella's daughter-in-law. Kalila and Mandella share a very tight bond of friendship brought about by Mandella's son and Kalila's daughter falling in love and getting married.

Born in Tokyo, Japan, Kalila (Kazuhoo Mizuki) began studying Japanese dance at the age of four. At the age of twenty-one, she was bestowed with a formal dance title from the Mizuki School of Classical Dance. She has performed in many theaters in Japan including the Japan National Theater.

She remains an active Japanese Dance performer in the Monterey Bay Area, but now at this juncture of her life, she has discovered a fondness for belly dancing as well. She enjoys her new-found avenue of expression as an honorary member of the Egyptsies family with fellow dancers Mandella Rivera, Chéron (Jesus Rivera), Cassiopeia (Amber) and Aimee Seaver (Farah).
